L.I.F.E. In Service
At Second, we understand that a church loses its identity as Christ-followers if it refuses to share Jesus with those far from God. Jesus died for the lost, broken, and misdirected. As a result, Second seeks to fulfill the Great Commission by providing opportunities to draw the unreached closer to Him. This includes neighbors, strangers, and family members, but also people groups not on American soil. Adopting a "Life in Service" is how we are coming together to follow Christ in His Mission!
Local Missions
We have been loving Arkadelphia since 1905! Whether it is through church events or in conjunction with a local partner, our mission is to serve the community of Arkadelphia.
Local Partners: Arkadelphia Public Schools, Lighthouse Mission, Red River Baptist Association, The Pregnancy Resource Center for SW Arkansas, HSU Baptist Collegiate Ministry, and OBU Campus Ministries.
If you'd like more information on how you could serve with one of our local partners, contact the church office.
Intermediate Missions
It's important that we look outside our immediate community to also serve nearby towns and states to share the love of Jesus. As a result, we have an Intermediate focus to our mission that includes financial support, special trips, and prayers for these partners.
Intermediate Partners: Beautiful Feet Ministries in Fort Worth, TX, Disaster Relief of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, and the North American Mission Board.
If you'd like more information on how you could serve with one of our Intermediate partners, contact the church office.
Foreign Missions
Our eyes must always be on God's heart for the nations to know Him and love Him. As a church, we provide opportunities to GIVE to missions and GO on mission trips.
Foreign Partners: The International Mission Board and the Honduras Short Term Medical Mission Trip with the Red River Baptist Association.
If you'd like more information on how you could serve with one of our Foreign partners, contact the church office.
Evangelism Experiences
As fellow believers in Christ, we all need to be equipped and encouraged to share the story of Jesus with others who are not following Him. Our church's evangelistic aim is for each of us to focus on ONE person who hasn't surrendered to Jesus. Whoever your ONE is, pray for that person and be intentional about engaging in spiritual conversations. Set up meetings, invite to church, and send encouraging messages to your ONE. Let's be soul-winners!
Matthew 28:19-20
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
